Something I've Always Wondered

At May Day this morning, Pip asked "Why do some people choose to set their background to black with white text? As if that actually makes the screen easier to look at ?!"

Thoughts?

  1. Actually, studies have shown that for screens white text on black backgrounds results in both lower eye strain and better reading retention.

  3. OK - I'm open to reconsidering my position on this matter. Given my terrible eye sight, maybe I should do a complete 180 and switch my screen settings.
